I'm just about to change into my suit and head off to Cheltenham for a job I think I really, really want. I say "I think", because I'm not sure what the job will entail other than being a technical author. It's all a bit mysterious.
So, send all positive vibes and thoughts you can spare my way from 1pm onwards - hell, from now. After all, I have to get there and I'm praying nothing odd happens with the car.
I'll be heading straight to Maelstrom from the interview, and apparently I may even know by then whether I've got it or not.
So, see some of you over the weekend.
UPDATE: Well, that was odd. I usually have a good feel for how interviews go, but I really don't know in this case. I think some of my answers were very good, but others I realised might be interpreted unfavourably. As a result, the pessismist in me is saying I didn't get it. Also, they probably won't let me know for 2 to 3 weeks, which means I have to find out whether I can say yes to the offer in Brum (deadline this Wednesday) but back out later should I actually get offered the Cheltenham job. Hum.
Oh yes, Cheltenham. Nudge nudge, etc.
One possible point in my favour - one of the interviewers works with a contract tech author who's a member of the writing group I'm in. Here's hoping he puts in a good word if asked.
Thanks for all the support. They were just what I needed after getting home at 2am, utterly shattered, to an oven-hot house.
