Weddings and goodbyes
Sep. 3rd, 2006 08:52 amYesterday was the wedding of Mark and Emma (
wotanut), at which I was an usher. The intermittent rain intermitted at the right times, the service was great, the meal was superb and the party was fantastic fun. For the first time in over ten years, I actually danced - well, flailed around in an uncoordinated fashion. I blame the Bombadier beer I was introduced to.
It was a good day, if a little emotional at times. The bride looked stunning (and let me kiss her when "Kiss The Bride" was playing) and the groom looked pretty good too (although he didn't want me to kiss him. Funny that).
There were a few other people from my old job there, and it was good to see them. I'm sure I'll see some of them again, but it did bring home to me how great most of the people I used to work with were. Shame the company's shit, really.
And tomorrow, back to the grindstone of working life. I'm actually looking forward to it, which feels a bit weird. Wish me luck.
