Updatey updatey, five dorrah
Oct. 1st, 2006 09:39 amI'm writing this from Osh and Jane's computer room, nursing a cup of hot water with lemon in it and a large bruise on my shin. The lemon because it's my favourite morning drink [1] and the bruisde because Osh's new car has a tow bar, which I discovered when I walked between the car and the wall. Ow.
So, what's been happening:
Work - not too bad, although having to go to Skelmersdale by public transport for two mornings running for a training course that started at 8 bloody 30 was no joke. Working for a small company is odd - they're a bit funny about some aspects of travel expenses, but they have the flexibility to do stuff like paying for an evening of bowling followed by a Chinese meal for 16 people (on Thursday night). Said Chinese was yummy, and was just around the corner from my new flat.
Flat - not yet properly installed there yet, largely because I have the worst bloody time trying to get in touch with BT to sort the phone line and obligatory broadband out. Still, the necessary stuff should all be delivered on Thursday, which means of course I'll have to collect it from the Post Office on Saturday morning.
Car - the garage is still scratching its collective head. They've replaced several parts of the fuel delivery system now and to no avail. I popped in yesterday and expressed the opinion that if the problem wasn't going to be sorted quickly, I'd appreciate being given a very good deal on a replacement vehicle. They will get back to me.
Weekends - very busy for the next month. Next weekend is still free, but that's followed by another Malvern visit, then the Harts' event and then the Re-enactors/Living History fayre. Still, keeps me off the streets.
[1] When I say "favourite morning drink" I mean of course that while I love it, it is a substitute for the hot caffienated loveliness my addiction demands.
