What a splendid day
Jun. 2nd, 2007 07:03 pmSpending a rare weekend at home, I decided to get oot and aboot.
Firstly, I got up for breakfast and forgot it, because I started playing my guitar. Then I showered, dressed and wandered to the guitar shop I keep driving past on my home. Lovely and welcoming, and I've been invited back to jam some time, either with my own guitar or borrowing one (I have my eye on a beautiful Yamaha semi, which they let me play. *Sigh* One day).
Then back to flat to check train times, discovering I had two minutes to catch a train into Brum. I only made it because the train was late.
I met up with
charliewgc and Martin. On arrival it turned out both Charlie and I had forgotten breakfast, so Martin took us to a rather good and cheap Chinese buffet. Thereafter we met up with two other Bears - Miles and Alex - and went trawling round shops, stopping for the occasional coffee or cool drink. I picked up a couple of comic books I've been lusting after, some material for my costume for Charlie and Gill's event in February and even a cheap broad-brimmed summer hat which I had to be encouraged to wear. I was glad I did, as it just got hotter and brighter through the day.
Then on the train and back to a warm evening in Stafford. Time for a nice relaxing evening.
