Anyone got some spare sleep handy?
Oct. 4th, 2007 01:41 pmI don't seem to be catching up fast.
Couldn't get to sleep easily on Sunday or Monday, and Tuesday was the folk club night. This was lots of fun, and also served to prove that the world is ten feet square and has four people in it - Jen the Goth (formerly of QQ, like myself) who was at Osh and Jane's wedding turned up with her boyfriend Joe, who lives in Stafford and was also at the wedding. Spooky.
I tried a few more songs, emboldened by my antics on the weekend. Kathleen was a bit shaky, but I was fairly pleased with Sam Hall, Delia's Gone (Johnny Cash) and Next to the Last True Romantic (Josh Ritter). I've also promised to play something British next time, so I'm occasionally frantically searching the net for chords to the few English folk songs I think I can get away with. There aren't many. Gulp.
As for sleep, I should be meeting a friend for a drink this evening and then heading to Malvern Friday night, so I don't anticipate catching up on any some time soon.
