Shooting, shooting, shooting...
Nov. 12th, 2008 06:18 pmToday is Wednesday, when my coach is at the Lichfield club from 10:30 until 3pm. This means I get to shoot loads of arrows indoors under his supervision. We started off with a 60 arrow scoring round - my first dozen arrows were good, but I slumped in the second. Harry then, although not in so many words, told me to get my act together.I clawed my way back up to finish on another strong dozen. My scores are still way off what they need to be, but still improving week on week.
Afterwards I did some shooting with my eyes closed (not as dangerous as it sounds) and tweaked the bow settings a tad. All in all I shot at least 150 arrows. The skin on the fingers of my drawing hand is developing an extremely leathery feel, but that's what I have to put up with.
Next week, more improvements. I'm on the way.
