A splendid birthday
Dec. 3rd, 2008 08:21 pmJenny has spoiled me rotten, against all instruction.
Last weekend she surprised me with funds for a visit to my family in Surrey. Yesterday, on my actual birthday, she piled presents and cards on the bed in the morning. The pressies included some of the best flavoured coffee I've tasted and a cuddly giraffe monitor cleaner. In the evening it transpired that she arranged a trip down to Malvern to see the Mob there, and we all went for a lovely Thai meal in Worcester. Along with the usual crowd came an archer friend of mine who has come to know Osh at work. We nerded about bows (he's one of the assistant coaches for the GB squad) and no one objected too much.
In the morning we drove back up and I went into work with a huge grin on my face.
The only fly in the ointment thus far has been the Carphone Warehouse, who are being stunningly incompetent at upgrading my phone. Mum and Dad have given me the cash for an iPhone, but the shop is coming up with excuse after excuse as to why they can't do it today and can I call back tomorrow please? Harumph.
Otherwise, all is good. Thanks to all for the birthday wishes I've received from various quarters :-)
