Unexpected beauty

Having a really crap day today. However...

From the sofa I can see through the back door to the fence at the bottom of the garden. I looked out just as a male kestrel swooped across the field and landed on a fence post, mouse clutched in his talons. He looked around for danger while I watched, bobbing his head. He was utterly beautiful. Sadly he flew off while I was away getting my camera, but it was such a wonderful sight somehow I don't mind :-)
