What a splendid jest, he said ironically
Jun. 3rd, 2009 10:39 pmIn my archery club, much comment is made regarding my height. I'm only a bit over 6'2" but for some reason I am surrounded by midget archers. I also get the occasional remark about my broad-brimmed hat I wear to keep the sun out of my eyes while I shoot.
I have just had the target list through for the tournament to be hosted by our club on Sunday 14th June. The club's tournament organiser (also vertically challenged) has put me on the same target as a 6'9" world-class compound bow archer, who also happens to wear a big hat.
Even if this isn't intentional, the moment they realise out the cameras will come. It's going to look like he's brought his little brother to the competition with him.
Still, he's a nice chap whom I have shot with before. It'll be good to catch up, even if I will get a crick in my neck.
