Barbeques and such
Aug. 2nd, 2009 06:01 pmOff to North Wales to visit Gareth and Ceri for their annual party. As we drove into North Wales past the funny smells of Ellesmere Port the clouds parted and the sun came out. Yes, the summer is holidaying in Snowdonia.
Bangor and its environs no longer seem like a home to me, and I find it hard to believe I lived there once. It was good to take Jenny there, especially as she enjoyed the party so much. We met some new people, renewed some acquaintances [1] and in my case definitely didn't make a friend for life. A soon-to-be-gone lodger in the house kept pouring paraffin on the firepit, and after the third occurrence (when he'd already told us he used all the paraffin up the second time) I tipped a bowl of water over it. Immensely satisfying.
This morning I had my first ever visit to Pete's Eats in Llanberis, which was really quite good. Then a long scenic drive down the A5 and home. Now I'm relaxing on the sofa and gathering my energies for the week ahead.
