Continued improvement
Oct. 8th, 2009 09:26 pmAnother visit to the physio today. It's very odd standing in front of a huge mirror, shirtless, moving your arms around as someone stares intently at your back and prods various muscles.
The good news is that the movement of the scapula is improving, which means the serratus muscle is starting to do its job. The range of motion of the shoulder is improving, and the pain when the impingement test is performed (it's sort of like a surreal martial arts arm lock. Ish.) is decreasing. So I've been upgraded to the next strength of exercise band and told to carry on with the exercises.
Of course, there may still be an actual impingement that will only be aggravated by strenuous activity, such as drawing a bow. I won't know without a scan. That's what I'm hoping the consultant I'll be seeing on the 21st will authorise a scan to find out one way or another. Here's hoping.
