Weekending
Nov. 2nd, 2009 01:14 pmMost things were good over the weekend. My mood was not one of them. Shame.
Still, the Halloween party went well, despite some confusion and the fact that the not-secured-as-they-were-on-the-patio gazebos made a predicted (by me) bid for freedom at around 8am Sunday morning in the howling wind and rain. Luckily I got to stay in bed while all four were taken down and dumped in my tent, also in the back garden.
I got to stay in bed because I'd basically done all the cooking, assisted in passing my Jenny's sister Ali dressed as a demon (I referred to her as my Kitchen Devil).
The curry was, I thought, not terribly good. It was wolfed down and widely praised, to my surprise. The bolognese was also well received. There were good costumes, lots of socialising, a drunken and pleasant landlord, little kids, and a moderate (for me) amount of alcohol.
The week coming features a Fleetwood Mac gig tomorrow night, another meeting with the consultant, having a root filling done, and tidying up after the party. Looks like I'll need a new tent as well. At least I've a while to save for it.
