Too many things to do
Nov. 9th, 2009 01:21 pmI never seem to have enough time in a weekend. A short summary of this one follows:
- Friday night we drove over to Matlock, where a bunch of gaming reprobates we knew were staying in a lovely holiday house and gaming until their eyeballs bled. This was good, although gaming was minimal, as Friday night is the calm before the storm at Cottagecon (as it is known).
- Saturday was spent in Bakewell. Late breakfast, mooching, window shopping, book browsing, whisky tasting, early supper, and then home to the sofa and a cuppa. The highlight was spending £200 on whisky for my parent's pub (for which I will be reimbursed). I had to taste a good selection, naturally. *hic*
- Sunday involved clearing up some more of the Halloween Party debris. My tent has three broken pole sections and was a sanctuary for a mouse over the last week, apparently. I've no idea if I can get the poles repaired, but at least I have time to save for a replacement tent, if needed.
- Sunday also involved collecting Jenny's new car. It is a lovely blue and very shiny indeed. I also suspect it has had some sporty modifications, which may have an impact on the insurance. It started flashing diagnostic warnings at her almost immediately, but info I've found online seems to indicate this may just be a case of resetting the computer. It's certainly not affecting the performance.
And that's all for now, folks.
