Must . . . wake . . . up . . .
Sep. 5th, 2005 09:11 amI'm afflicted by a terrible lethargy at the moment. It was with me for most of yesterday too. I just want to go home and go to bed. Kipping on the desk is not acceptable, apparently.
A summary of the last couple of days:
1. Visited parents. Saw 2 out of 3 siblings, Grandmother and favourite Aunt. Grandmother still has her spoilt little dog, who still remembers that I'm the only one who's ever actually trained him (i.e. held him down on his back and screamed in his face when he tried to bite me). His behaviour has been better ever since.
2. Saw cats too. Lily (small Burmese) has stopped licking off all the fur on her belly, has bulked out and actually looks cat shaped. Raffles (large Burmese, her brother) is slightly more graceful but still enjoys playing "spin the cat". He also jumps from wall to wall on request, so I have some mid-air cat piccies now. We worked out that Doris - the half-Persian - is twenty years old. Her demands are simple: regular feeding in small amounts, occasional fuss and a warm place to sleep in the shed. Her glare was always impressive, but now it can actually cut sheet steel at 20 paces.
3. Failed to get a decent picture of the red kites that fly around over my parents' house. The instant I sprint for my camera they fly just that little bit further away. Avian scum.
4. I will be picking up the Mondeo today. Hopefully nothing else is going to go wrong. Still, I'm tempted (when the compensation finally comes through and if it's enough) to trade it in for something else. The driving position is just too low and uncomfortable for me.
