Posh nosh

I forget that the posher the nosh, the smaller the portions. I believe this is a clever way to get you to have all three courses and thus spend more money.

Anyway, last night I are be mostly eating:

Rabbit consomme with a lonely rabbit ravioli sitting in the middle, some nice shredded veg and a couple of bits of barely cooked rabbit ribs. Too salty for me, but it was the only starter I'd eat. Wasn't keen on the raw rabbit either.

Pot roasted partridge with dauphinoise potatos, grilled salsify and wilted greens. Very tasty, but a bit dry as they'd overlooked the fact that roasted meat dishes usually require a sauce of some kind.

Blueberry souffle with white chocolate ice cream. Superb.

I also had a glass of house white, a liquer coffee (the liquer being strega, which is a very odd but overall pleasant herby Italian tipple) and a measure of Laguvulin single malt.

(And no, I didn't have a Double Decker and two packets of Monster Munch to finish off).

I'm now about to continue charging through the rest of this dissertation I'm reviewing. I'm making good progress, and I hope to be able to take the afternoon off to do some shooting.
