Weekending [1]
Dec. 5th, 2005 08:43 am( Lairy Punter and the Hobbiton Mire (no spoilers) )
Other than that, I spent my remaining credit and some birthday money at the archery shop, buying all the accessories I need to make my own bowstrings. I've already made one. It's a bit short, but at least it's not unravelling (yet).
The meal on Saturday night was great. Excellent company, good food (wild boar - yummy) and rather fittingly some Adnams ale on tap - Adnams is brewed in the town I come from on the Suffolk coast, and my Great Uncle used to be a master brewer there. When I got round to paying our share of the bill I was certain there was something wrong, but was a tad tiddly and therefore couldn't work out what. I think I have now - either I was undercharged or my friends secretly paid a chunk of my share of the bill. So, thanks guys or thanks to the Anchor at Welland, whichever's responsible. :-)
Sunday was quite lazy, although I did manage to bake a banana and walnut cake successfully. Huzzah.
[1] I loved that show. Such a shame they pulled the plug.
