And the weekend continues
Mar. 5th, 2006 02:29 pmjPod is downstairs trying to defrost the ice box in the fridge. It brought back memories of my approach to doing the job: take small supersoaker water pistol, fill with just off the boil water, prime and blast. I used to cut huge blocks of ice away and then wash off the rest of the ice. Fun and simple, if a bit wet. Sadly, someone stole the pistol from my house (never discovered who) and I never found a replacement.
Last night was
westernind and
forbinproject's wedding reception in Birmingham. I started off as nervous as all hell (as usual), but was relaxed enough to sit down about half way through. It was good to meet some people for the first time (
jfs and
binidj) in person and to catch up with some others that I hadn't seen for a while. The food was very good (big thumbs up for the lack of mayonnaise in every sandwich present. I wish the caterers at work would learn that lesson), the cake awesome and the bride and groom's costumes amazing. There were also quite a few corsets being employed to great effect. Huzzah.
Today is house cleaning day in preparation for Jen's aunt Bep arriving tomorrow. So I shall wait for Jen to finish her share of the housework before I wield the mighty Dy-Son and purify our carpets. Rargh.
