Holiday halfway
Mar. 8th, 2006 04:47 pmI've had to take this week off work, because if I didn't I'd lose the holiday time when my leave year ticks over at the end of April. Looking at my schedule, this week was the only one I could take off.
Jen's Aunt Beth has been visiting. She arrived on Monday and we showed her the delights of Tewkesbury Abbey in the glorious sun. The next day we showed her Gloucester in the pouring rain (what a lovely city, and a magnificent Cathedral) and attempted to have high tea in Ross on Wye. Sadly the Antique Tea Rooms were shut on Mondays to Wednesdays during the winter (of course), so we had an overpriced tea at an hotel instead.
Jen had an interview this morning in Worcester, and Beth and I followed in slower time on the train and met Jen at the Cathedral. Finally we packed Beth off on the train back to London, where she'll stay with her son and his fiance until flying back to New York on the weekend.
In other news, I posted some pictures of myself shooting that Jen took for me on two archery websites and asked for comments on ways to improve my form. Instead of criticism, I got compliments from some very respected coaches on how much I'd improved compared to a year ago. In fact, someone used my before and after photos as an example of poor and then corrected technique in another thread.
This has given my confidence a huge boost. Despite all my set backs, I'm on the right path. Now I just have to continue to follow it.
