I went to the club on Tuesday night feeling very tired and like I was just going to be going through the motions. To my amazement, I could barely miss the gold. I realised that my bow arm was much more relaxed than it had been - rather than trying to force it into position I was just letting the muscles relax and the bones take the weight.
Of course, I tried to replicate this today and failed completely at first because I was thinking about it too much; but after a while I began to recapture the feeling. It's more difficult than it sounds to relax and let your body do the work.
