Up at 5.50am this morning to drive 70 miles to Chester to shoot 30 bloody arrows.
A couple of ends into the competition I realised my drawing shoulder was tightening up, especially the muscles that run around to the front of my body. At the beginning of the fourth scoring end I realised that if it hurt to pick up the bow it probably wasn't a good idea to shoot it.
So now I'm at home and sulking. My neighbour's set up his TV outside to watch Wimbledon, but it's far too bright outside for my tastes. I'm lurking indoors, although I may venture out in a bit and try to be sociable.
I'm sure it's just a mild strain and with a little R&R and treatment it'll be fine, but I need a little time to be grumpy before I can start being positive again.
