Odd sort of weekend

I think I'm mostly able to spend a weekend by myself, but I've had a lot to think about over the last week and really could have done with some company. The fact that my neighbour cancelled the BBQ yesterday because it wasn't sunny enough, and that an electrical fault in my car makes it a risky to drive further than town and back hasn't helped.

So I felt like I needed to hear a friendly voice. Naturally, I called the McAllisters. Duncan's exclamation of "Uncle JK!" when he realised he'd get to say goodnight to me was all the lift I needed... but chatting with Dessie and Bría was good too :-)

Today, I will get the house straight(ish), sort some paperwork and emails out, and blow out the cobwebs with some music. And maybe the BBQ will happen today, if I can convince my neighbour that to have a BBQ in Britain the only pre-requisite is that there aren't extreme weather conditions.
