Not how I expected to spend my Monday...

I'm sitting at home because my car is, in my judgement, currently not safe to drive on fast roads. The power steering dies if I put use other electrical systems (like the stereo, headlights, etc.), so driving to work is out of the question.

The car is under warranty, which is good, but the local dealership (over ten miles away, on mostly safe roads) don't have a courtesy car available until next bloody week. So I'm waiting - and have been waiting since 9am - for them to call me back to tell me if they can get a second-hand car taxed and available for me to use instead.

So I'm stuck in the house when I'd rather be at work, and am reduced to reading stuff on my laptop and dealing with emails. Very frustrating.

It also looks like my trip to Suffolk this weekend will be cancelled because of all this. I may get the train to go see my parents instead.

But on the plus side I have peace and quiet, and can make tea for myself without having to ask if anyone else wants one. :-)
