Another PB
Jan. 5th, 2007 01:29 pmShot with the new riser for the first time this week. The downside is that, as I suspected, some of fittings for the weights are missing, which means it isn't as well balanced as it should be. Also although I've tweaked the settings a little there's still quite a bit of unnecessary vibration, so more work is needed.
The good news is that I shot very well with it. Last night I smashed my Portsmouth PB with a score of 455. I was especially pleased because a beginner who was interested in barebow shooting was directed to watch me shoot for the last end. Normally this would cause me to screw up big time, but instead I pulled myself together and shot 5 golds and a red - my best end of the night, with the single red less than a centimetre outside the gold. For non archers, the gold is 12cm across and 20 yards away. Yippee :-)
Not sure what to do this weekend quite yet. I might be going to a clout shoot on Sunday (shooting at a flag 180 yards away in the ground). I'm also planning on getting some bookshelves and a wardrobe finally sorted out. No doubt some of my plans shall fall by the wayside in favour of drinking coffee and reading a book or three.
